Sam Bisbee – Parachute

This is that great song by the opening band down at the dive bar. The dirty floorboards resonate with the intensity of the sticks hitting the snares, the boundless energy in the singer’s voice as he writhes around the microphone stand. You didn’t really recognize any talent before now; in fact, they were more annoying than anything else, interfering with your conversation with the pitcher.

But this one’s a toe tapper; rawness and rough edges pulling your attention away from the hops. It’s a pretty good song, yeah, but even better, the guy singing it really means it when he talks about the holes in his parachute. Yours was just shot up a little bit ago; now it’s as deflated as your ego. But maybe this song, and this band, and this filthy little alley of humanity can help you patch it up again. Or, at the very least, let you have a good time in the process.
